About

Intelligence is becoming abundant. Authority is not.

OTIS Labs is developing the human centric authority layer for agentic intelligence.

As AI systems begin acting on behalf of people and organizations, the central challenge is no longer only what the systems can do. It is how identity, intent, authority, memory and accountability remain anchored to the humans and institutions those systems represent.

We are working toward architectures in which agents can operate with meaningful autonomy without becoming the source of their own authority.

We believe the alignment of the system must always be with the human principal using the system.

What we believe

Three principles.

  1. 01

    Authority remains human-originated

Every consequential delegation should trace to a legitimate person or institution capable of defining, changing and withdrawing it. OTIS is the control layer that lets people and organizations use powerful AI without surrendering sovereignty to whichever provider controls the model, terms, or access.

  2. 02

    Time and context are architectural

Authority, consent, trust and intent change. Systems governing agent action must account for those changes rather than treating an initial permission as permanently sufficient.

  3. 03

    Trust requires evidence

Trustworthy agency requires more than confidence or visibility. The basis on which an action was permitted must be inspectable and provable.

Security and trust are not add-ons. They are the condition for adoption.

Research lineage

OTIS Labs grows out of Experiential AGI, a broader research program examining intelligence as it emerges through evolving relationships among humans, agents, organizations, memory and action.

OTIS Labs is the applied architectural expression of that work.
